meet chelsie

I began this blog with big dreams. Those dreams haven’t changed much, they have grown bigger, but are (hopefully) attainable. If this is my “about me,” then what you should know about me is this:

I’m a writer. I’m a reader. I’m a mother (of TWO). My favorite books are Stephen King’s IT and Joe Hill’s N0S4A2. I literally read at least 4 books a week. I would rather stay up reading than watching movies and TV. Although, I have indulged in front of the boob tube on occasion; but only for Dexter, Bate
s’ Motel
, Orange is the New Black, Breaking Bad, and The Walking Dead.

Even after several high school and college English courses, I still don’t know the difference between affect and effect; so I use the word “impact” instead. Just as effective (affective?). I’ve been writing poetry for as long as I can remember. It has always been my passion. I’ve ventured in writing fictional short stories, writing a few articles for the Crystal Clear Photography website, some “political” pieces on controversial topics, and of course the essays for school (which I mention, because if I don’t say so myself, they were pretty awesome essays).

Speaking of Crystal Clear Photography, Crystal is my amazing, talented sister. She’s a photographer (hence the name of her business). I absolutely love my sister. Which is why I’m giving her this shout out! She’s the photographer of the awesome photos on my blog. Check out her Styled Stock Photography store for your own high resolution, crystal clear Styled Stock Photos. Also check out the blog on her website for some articles co-written by yours truly!

For as long as I’ve been writing, I’ve been reading. My dad’s favorite thing to tell people about me as a kid is that he never had to ground me from TV or playing outside; instead, he’d just take my books and make me watch a movie or go ride my bike. I have always been and will always be an absolute #booknerd.

I like to think I have a great sense of humor. Although, I am very easily amused. It doesn’t take much to hold my attention (or distract me), make me laugh, or impress me with clever wits.

So, that’s about it for this about me. At least for the internet. That’s all the internet needs to know about me 😉 Email me therealchelsie@gmail.com and we talk books and poetry!
